People's Election: June 2010

Welcome to the June election for the People's Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. If you haven't voted before, take a moment to look at the rules.  Those returning should note that the minimum ballot size has been cut from 15 down to 10 names.  Voters can still name up to 25 nominees.

Vote for up to 25 artists or groups.
Ballots can be posted either in the comments section of this blog post or on the wall of our official Facebook page.

You must vote for at least 10. Ballots with less than 10 names will not be counted.

Any artist or group named on more than 50% of the counted ballots will be inducted to The People's Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame.

The cutoff year for eligibility is 1965. To be eligible, an artist or group had to have released their first single or album no later than '65.

Write-in votes are allowed. You may list up to three artists or groups not included on the ballot, and the vote will count, so long as they meet the 1965 cut-off date. If an ineligible name is included on a write-in ballot, that ballot may be counted as a short ballot. Ballots containing more than three write-in votes will not be counted.  The People's Rock Hall moderators reserve the right to not count any ballots we deem to not be legitimate.  The People's Rock Hall moderators reserve the right to not count any ballots we deem to not be legitimate.

Oldies Committee Election for June, 2010

Here is where we will be holding the special election for oldies artists who are being removed from the regular nominee list as well as a selection of some other artists who debuted by 1955 and have not yet been named official nominees.

This election will be open as long as the regular June election, but will be held separately to avoid confusion. The format for this vote will be the same as our very first regular election. There are 25 names on the nominee list. Pick 10. No write-in votes will be accepted. Any artists who are named on more than 50% of the counted ballots will be inducted in with our June class.

The names that are under consideration are being removed from the regular nominee list, however any of them who do not gain enshrinement through this special election will still be eligible as write-in candidates for future elections.

There will be one more Oldies Committee election in five months, when we will add artists who debuted by 1960, at which point the intention is to retire the special election.

Here are the nominees, post your list of ten here in this thread, and also feel free to use it for questions and general on-topic chatter:
