Announcing the 13th Class of People's Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame Inductees!

The polls are closed, the ballots have been counted, and we are proud to add six more names to the People's Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. And for the first time, our entire class is made up of groups and artists who have been snubbed by the Cleveland hall. Some big names missed the cut, but many will be back for our next election. So if any of your favorites didn't get in this time, stay tuned and get ready to vote for them in our 14th election, which will be announced soon. A special thank you to everyone who voted and supported this ongoing project, you are what makes this the only hall of fame by and for the people!

VOTE in the 13th People's Hall Election!


First time nominees Paul Simon and Lou Reed

Welcome to the 13th election for the People's Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. For this ballot, only artists and groups who debuted by 1972 are eligible. Next month, we will add names of people who debuted in 1973, and so on. Eventually, some time in 2013, we will get caught up to those who debuted by 1987, and will switch to an annual election.

How to vote:


Below is a list of 50 nominees for the 13th class of People's Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. Pick up to 25 (minimum 10), and
 post your ballot either in the comments section of this post or on the People's Rock Hall Facebook page


Anyone named on at least 50% of the counted ballots will be inducted.


Write in votes: you can include one write-in vote if you choose. They must meet the 1972 cut-off date to be valid.

Polls close on Friday, August 3 at 8:00 PM EST.

Welcome to the twelfth election for the People's Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. For this ballot, only artists and groups who debuted by 1971 are eligible. Next month, we will add names of people who debuted in 1972, and so on. Eventually, some time in 2013, we will get caught up to those who debuted by 1987, and will switch to an annual election.

Below is a list of 50 nominees for the twelfth class of People's Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. In order to have your voice heard, select up to 25 names (minimum 10), and post your ballot either in the comments section of this post or on the People's Rock Hall Facebook page. Any artist or group named on at least 50% of the counted ballots will be inducted. You may include one write-in vote if you choose. A valid write-in candidate is anyone who released their first recording by the end of 1971, and is not already an inductee of the People's Rock Hall. Any ballot which contains more than one write-in vote may not be counted.


Polls close on Friday, July 13 at 8:00 PM EST.

VOTE in the Eleventh Election for the People's Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame

Welcome to the eleventh election for the People's Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. For this election, we are putting forth two ballots. For the regular ballot, only artists and groups who debuted by 1970 are eligible. The next time around, we will add names of people who debuted in 1971, and so on. Eventually, some time in 2013, we will get caught up to those who debuted by 1987, and will switch to an annual election.


We are also, concurrently, running our second Oldies Ballot election. The Oldies Ballot is a way to give earlier artists and groups another look, and this time it is made up of people who debuted by 1960. You can find the Oldies Ballot in the post below this one.

Eleventh Election Oldies Ballot

Here at the People's Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame, we occasionally go back and reconsider some of the earlier groups and artists who may have flown under the radar when they were first considered. Our first Oldies Ballot election was conducted during the vote for our Sixth Class of inductees, and included artists who had debuted by 1955. For this ballot, the debut cut-off has been moved up to 1960.
